They also feature a longer lifespan, with 3,000–5,000 cycles, compared to 500–1,000 cycles for standard Li-Ion batteries. Additionally, LiFePO₄ batteries are designed with IP67 waterproofingand corrosion-resistant casings, ensuring durability in harsh marine environments. Their stable voltage profile prevents overcharging and deep discharge risks, enhancing overall safety. While slightly heavier than some Li-Ion chemistries, they remain significantly lighter than lead-acid batteries, offering a perfect balance of safety, longevity, and performance for marine applications.

Proteus Eco LiFePO₄ batteries have a lifespan of 5,000 cycles, depending on usage and maintenance. And even after that, the battery life decreased just by 10-15%. This translates to 15–20 years+ of reliable performance, significantly outlasting traditional lead-acid or standard lithium-ion batteries. With proper care, including avoiding extreme temperatures and deep discharges, they maintain high efficiency and capacity retention over time.
To maintain and store your LiFePO₄ battery, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, charge the battery to 50–80% and disconnect it from any loads. Regularly check the voltage every 3–6 months to ensure it stays within the recommended range for optimal longevity.
